A trip to plant native trees with Viewpark Conservation Group

Visit to Viewpark Conservation Group for planting native species to celebrate Community Land Week.

Viewpark is the largest urban Community Land buyout to date at 170 acres, on the Douglas Estate in North Lanarkshire. Since coming into community ownership in 2020, the local community has been managing the land for nature conservation.

This event included the planting of native species of Scottish trees in the Douglas Support Estate and also the management of non native invasive plant species. The activities were supported by information on the importance of woodland management and the benefits it can bring to support native species and wildlife.

This event was free and open to all. Participants traveled to the event with the Community Land Scotland team from central Glasgow.

This event was part of Community Land Week 2022.
